Italian DJ and music producer Coke Beats and underground lofi producer D7up have joined forces to bring a dance duo experience that reminds a mix of Back to the Future with a hint of electro and house music.
Malibu Vice is a dance duo featuring D7up on keytar and Coke Beats on percussions, DJ decks, and electric guitar. While D7up’s keytar seems to come straight from an episode of Jem and the Holograms, Coke Beats’ drumming, and music selection brings an explosive mix of electro, house, rock, and pop with an eye to the nostalgic partygoer.
The Malibu Vice setlist includes classics from the 80s and 90s, from Robert Miles to Corona, Soft Cell, Spice Girls, Haddaway, Britney Spears, Pink, Benny Benassi, Stardust, and many more. The energy they bring during their live performances reminds me of the rebel attitude of The Breakfast Club (the classic 1980s teen movie that follows five high school students from different social groups who are forced to spend a Saturday together in detention) characters mixed with a sparkle of LMFAO and Daft Punk.
