Speaking on the creative process of the album, Meels shares,

The seven songs on the record, which were handpicked out of the many songs I had written over the past four years, were written sporadically throughout my years in New York City. Since they were all from different eras of my life I was very hell bent on recording them all in one place, over a short amount of time, with the same producers so the project would feel incredibly cohesive.”

In the lush landscapes of Mill Valley, California, Meels discovered her musical voice amidst towering redwoods, and her journey from nature’s grandeur to NYU’s Tisch’s Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music has shaped her into a compelling voice in indie folk. Her music, infused with the charm of her small-town roots, resonates with authenticity and sincerity. Meels’ discography showcases her unique blend of indie-folk, earning her recognition on editorial playlists like Indie Vibes 2024 and Good Morning. Tracks like ‘Time to Rise’ have found a place in popular culture, featured on ABC’s “Grown-ish”, highlighting her ability to capture the spirit of the times. With over 70,000 streams on Spotify and hits like ‘Royal Flush’ and ‘December 5th’ captivating audiences, Meels is poised to leave a lasting imprint on the indie music scene with ‘Tales From A Bird’s Bedroom’.
