Morgan Houston unveils new single ‘Distorted’

Morgan Houston has revealed her reflective new single ‘Distorted’, recounting the feeling of not wanting to let go of someone despite your vision of them being warped by love. The alt-pop track sees layers of her warm vocals craft a lush soundscape of harmonies as the production rises towards the emotive, drum-filled final chorus.

Speaking about her new release, Morgan shares: “‘Distorted’ has a special place in my heart as it recounts the purposelessness I felt after losing someone that I put on a pedestal for years. For me, it encapsulates an indulgent denial or stubborn refusal to admit that love can drastically distort your perception of another person. The anthemic repetition of ‘Whatever it is, I don’t want it without you’ represents this horrible, painful time in my life where nothing seemed exciting or valuable if it didn’t involve this other person.”

Sydney-based singer-songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist Morgan Houston released her debut EP Glow Up earlier this year, which gained airplay on over 50 radio stations. Next year looks bright for Morgan, and we can’t wait to hear more of her candid pop melodies.
