Indie masters of psychedelia and carving new soundscapes, My Satellite first formed all the way back in 2009. Since that time, the Los Angeles duo Bryan Stage and Andy Marshall have embarked on multiple musical journeys, exploring different eras and enveloping their sonics into their own.
In 2025, and nine years in the making, My Satellite releases their second album, Person, a seminal ten-track work that mixes a host of ethereal genre elements with an orchestral cinema.
In its highs come danceable grooves, joyous arrangements and an undeniable optimism. In more reflective moments, it looks inward, feeling more kaleidoscopic and thoughtful, capturing the listener within the album’s themes.
Throughout it all, there’s an innate beauty presented by My Satellite; you can feel the meticulous development, the care and attention and the steadfast purpose of the project, aside from the intricate sonics and incredible sound design, that’s what gives this album such impressive character.
The band dives into the new project, “About two years after the release of our last album LIFT, we were looking to take our sound somewhere new and uncharted for us. We set out to make the psychedelic album that we would want to listen to – an album that would impact others in the same way that Stevie Wonder, Radiohead and Tame Impala albums have us. One that put importance on the perfect bass line and drum groove, was incredibly maximalist at times, wasn’t scared of being too much or too bizarre, and most importantly was a singular work of art that is more than the sum of its parts. We spent eight years writing, tweaking, rewriting, mixing, and remixing to get to a final version that we are immensely proud of. PERSON is an unpredictable, psychedelic ride about the birth and death of a relationship with all its highs and lows. It is a journey that, much like a relationship, leaves you intact yet somewhere different from where you started.”
