American born, UK-bred, Odysi is hitting the Urban scene hard with his introspective alt-R&B debut “Loved x Lost” (Loved and Lost).
With a sound born out of his early Hip-Hop and 2 Step Garage MC and developed as a singer/songwriter, producer, and engineer for a selection of global top tier music artists, including Giggs and Stefflon Don, Odysi (Neiman Brown) is primed to take a leap in his own direction.
“Loved x Lost” uses broody vocal melodies and a trap-inspired rhythm fused eclectically with woozy indie, rock and pop-influenced electronics to create a dark yet airy downtempo vibe. The track is filled with a kaleidoscopic of emotional reflections using sophisticated writing techniques to portray strength through vulnerability. “The song is the result of a toxic relationship with my child’s mother.” Odysi explains, “There was a long period of time when I couldn’t see my child and I didn’t know when I would see her again. It sounds like I am talking about the mother but if you listen closely to the lyrics you can see I am talking about the relationship with my child.”
