orbit releases his expansive new single ‘Ocean’

orbit, the North German producer also known as Marcel Heym, has released his luscious new single ‘Ocean’ and with it invites the listener to take a deep dive into its vast, ethereal soundscape – the single is the latest to come from a forthcoming new EP by the artist.

After escaping the hustle and bustle of life as a producer in Berlin for the serenity of the North German countryside, Marcel Heym launched the new project only last year. Just one year and a debut EP later, he’s accrued four million streams with a quarter of a million people tuning in each month – all gained organically through the support of friends and people who are passionate about his music.

Speaking of the new song, orbit said: “Jumping into the ocean. The water is blue and tempting. The beauty of it makes me forget how dangerous it is at the same time. The further I dive in, the bigger the risk of getting hurt. With this song, I’m trying to describe the coexistence of love and pain and the bittersweetness between both.”

With orbit’s spacious layering of flowing synths, reversed textures and laid-back piano, all corralled by his lusciously reverberated vocals, the new single conjures a depth as deep as the ocean.

Trying to break down the barrier between the faceless numbers of music streams and the people behind them, the new single and forthcoming EP will be supported by a series of community organised, small-scale and guerilla-style live shows around Europe, reaching out to fans to help determine exactly where and when to play. He will also be supporting the new release with special content uploaded exclusively to his website. Fans can discover more here: www.summersomeday.com
