Multi-talented singer, songwriter, musician and producer Ormiston bursts onto the scene with his groovy debut track ‘Rebel’. The Canadian artist fuses electronic notes with a disco flair, cementing himself as an experimental, genre-blending extraordinaire. The uplifting record provides a well-needed burst of serotonin, and glows with originality.
Being introduced to a wide breadth of music from a young age, Ormiston was surrounded by female musicians growing up and began building a strong sense of melody and rhythm. Before making his solo debut, Ormiston mixed and produced for the likes of Milk & Bone, Heartstreets, Misage and Freida Mari. In 2013 he released ‘Typically Her’ under the name Beverlay, which was remixed by Kaytranada and hit more than 3 million streams worldwide. Signing with Canadian label Lisbon Lux Records (Le Couleur, Russell Louder, Radiant Baby and Das Mörtal) in 2020, Ormiston has big plans for the future and is currently working on his debut album set for release in spring 2021. If ‘Rebel’ is anything to go by, his imminent project is not one to be missed.
