‘Never Played It Safe‘ is the latest release from Welsh four-piece Paisley Park. Following the self-assured release of ‘Hey Lady’, their newest offering follows the bands typical sonic signature of hard hitting lead riffs and an almost counrtry twang in the vocal proves to be more infectious with every listen.
Discussing the release Jack Mason explains:
“The writing process was quick and easy with this one, everyone seemed to just gel together straight away and knew what the track needed. The meaning behind this track is about being young, rebellious and taking risks. Whenever we play it live it always takes me back to times when I was doing things I shouldn’t have been doing or times when I could have avoided putting myself in some sticky situations. I don’t regret any of it because without those memories we wouldn’t have created this song, as the song states, I never played it safe.”
Formed in April 2019, this emerging act succeed in balancing classic rock with soulful songwriting. Paisley Park cite some of their influences as Oasis, Arctic Monkeys, Led Zeppelin and The Who. With sing-a-long melodies, the band are stopping at nothing to make their mark in the current guitar-led music resurgence we’re seeing throughout the UK.
