Paris Iliffe looks to turn heads with new single ‘Power of the Woman’

Sydney-born and now London-based, Paris Iliffe is on a mission to find the balance between contemporary pop and the finesse of R&B; her niche has led to influence from songstresses Cleo Sol and Olivia Dean. With roots in Vietnam and Australia, she has brought diversity and perspective since her debut, going from strength to strength.

With her latest single, ‘Power of the Woman, ’ she unveils an emotive ode to femininity and what it means to be a woman. The lyricism is genuine and thoughtful, with expressive vocals hitting home the tones you need to hear. As tight, soulful drum-grooves form the foundation, they are mixed with stormy seas across the violins, synths and hi-hats.

In the verses, the arrangement oozes with neo-soul, but the choruses go on to ooze with sheer power. Swaying, rich, and without a singular genre category, Paris’ is bold and unwavering in creating an absolute anthem.

Paris shares her thoughts: “This is a really special song that I originally wrote as a tribute to my mum. But its message extends far beyond her, it applies to all woman. The lyrics reflect on the quiet yet powerful strength of a woman, often unseen but always present.”
