Nathan Morris is an entrepreneur/musician who is causing a bit of a stir. We are delighted to be premiering the wonderful ‘Dangerous’, which is the first music written during Covid that Morris has released.
The context of this song is the interesting part. Nathan is surrounded by death, which sounds like a metaphor, but it’s not. He’s in the funeral business. Being that close to death has given him a very different perspective to most on what the pandemic caused family’s to go through over the last few years. Instead of internalising this, he has written about his feelings towards it in ‘Dangerous’, which came out today.
On the song, Morris elaborates:
“Surrounded by death during Covid, as the leader and owner of a funeral home company, I was constantly bearing witness to loss; of will, of life, of self. I was merely a version of myself, and got tired of being jealous of the show version of me. The many masks I wore to keep things on track cost me my mental health. Confession has this therapeutic way of starting the healing process. Dangerous is that confession.”
The musicianship showed by the pop artist is something akin to the likes of Charlie Puth or his British counterpart Lewis Capaldi, which is an exciting mix in its own right, but Nathan Morris shows even a little bit more heart than the pop giants. His vulnerability can be heard in every lyric, making this release his strongest yet. Be sure to check him out below!
