An outfit that are no strangers to the stage, Raw Soul Express released their debut album 45 years ago. Still a force to be reckoned with within the soul and funk world, they return with new single ‘Fate of the World’. Retaining their core members, Raw Soul Express are versatile and showcase their diverse influences within the new single. ‘Fate of the World’ is a track that had to be shared to the world. With the lyricism touching upon themes of the Black Lives Matter movement, the COVID-19 pandemic, the economy and Global Warming, this track needs to be shouted from every rooftop in town.
On the release, Chris Perkins stated, “if you are conscious about your surroundings, mentally, socially and economically with a deep concern for humanity and God and love for your fellowman and the environment, then fate of the World addresses these issues in our society. It’s powerful, raw and it’s current. Unfortunately, it’s in real time.”
Fate of the World is an escapism for the toxicity within the world right now, yet tells listeners to think of their consequences.
