Legendary Reggae star Tanya Stephens released a cover of country music ACM Winning’s Old Dominion’s platinum-selling song One Man Band in May 2020. The single features Big Mountain an American band known for its remake of Peter Frampton’s “Baby, I Love Your Way, earning a 1994 MTV Music Award for best cover, a top 10 hit single in the US reaching No. 6 on the US Billboard Hot 100, No. 1 on the Mainstream Top 40 and No. 2 in the UK.
Tanya Stephens was one of the most promising female reggae artists to emerge in the late ’90s. Stephens caught her big break in 1996 when her female anthem “Yuh Nuh Ready fi Dis Yet” went viral which led her to work with acclaimed producers Barry O’Hare, Bobby “Digital” Dixon, Harvel “Gaddafi” Hart, and Dave and Tony Kelly.
After a segue into alternative rock (Warner Music, Sweden) she returned to reggae in 2004 with “Gangsta Blues”. While navigating her music career Stephens has raised her daughter and has become a business entrepreneur including restaurant owner in Ochos Rios.
