Winnipeg duo Encore have dropped their first single of the year today, offering genre-defying euphoria on ‘In My Head’. Pop, hip-hop and rock influences are woven into the energetic track, which sees soaring vocals alongside effervescent bass and electronic textures. Encore offers candid lyricism on the follow-up track to their hit ‘Tell Me’, adding depth and emotion to their dynamic soundscape.
Explaining the inspiration behind the song, Encore reveals: ““In My Head” is about the reflection of memories and recognition of how certain things can remain with us for a long time. When you think back, it becomes clear that even though time goes on, that person or specific memory stays with you and continues to play a part in your mind.”
Fronted by brothers Donald and Richard Plant, Encore focuses on writing lyrically driven hits while simultaneously incorporating new ways to combine genres. The band have earned themselves sold out shows, frequent radio play and TV appearances for their power tracks, with their 2020 pop-rock ballad ‘Tell Me’ proving to be their most successful release thus far. Encore has stepped into the limelight as a very promising force to watch out for.
