Dublin trio Runner have just made their debut with single ‘The View’. Already climbing the ranks live, their sound feels refined and fresh despite the early days, making them a clear one to watch for the future.
The three-piece’s sound brings a sense of indie brightness alongside a sense of dark poetry. Their lyricism is thoughtful and gritty, lifted by momentous guitar riffs and instrumental-driven production.
The guitars switch between twinkling counter melodies to raw and aggressive riffs on a dime, blending the old and the new and providing that new band flair that you just can’t replicate.
They explain the track, “‘View’ is about dualities—the tension between digital isolation and human connection, between the fast-paced and the reflective. Recording this album was a cathartic experience for us, and we hope listeners find a part of themselves in our music.”
