Runrummer releases dazzling single ‘All I Wanted Was To Be Romantic’

Seeing support from the prestigious music press, BBC Introducing and the PRS foundation as a part of their ‘Women Make Music’ Award, Runrummer’s recent re-emergence has set her as a rising star for 2024. Since her debut, Runrummer has opened the Introducing Stage at Radio 1’s Big Weekend, played festival stages across France and toured the UK.

Fresh from ‘Not Quite Over You’ which saw acclaim from across the industry, Runrummer has now unveiled ‘All I Wanted Was To Be Romantic, a glittered but emotive track that provides another teaser to her upcoming debut album Elevator.

Gently pulsing kick drums, oscillating, plucky synths and a fuzzy lead synth all come together to provide a backdrop for the artist’s raw vocal performance. Swaying through the synth-pop aesthetics with a warm and wistful delivery, Runrummer weaves a playfulness into her vocals, whilst remaining thoughtful in her lyricism.

Runrummer shares, “‘All I Wanted Was To Be Romantic’ is a song about falling for your best friend; thinking that you’re both on the same page and then coming to the realisation that they just don’t feel the same way, and you will be left forever longing for a love which cannot be”.

‘All I Wanted Was To Be Romantic’ is out now!
