ryan john clary shares a look into album ‘bandit’ in new track

The Boston-based singer-songwriter ryan john clary has unveiled a new single ‘whatcanwedo?’, a stripped-back, indie-folk warmer taken from the forthcoming full-length bandit. It follows the two-track single Two songs featuring corinna, and builds on the momentum of his nostalgic, emotive sound.

The arrangement is expansive, wrapping the listener in gorgeously layered acoustic guitars and subtle brass flourishes, lending the track a soft glow. This rich, yet understated instrumentation provides a perfect backdrop for Ryan’s vulnerable lead vocal, where stacked harmonies add a tender but pop-like sheen to a relaxed and contemplative mood.

Ryan shares, “I channelled my frustrations into this record. To both give myself a healthy outlet to express these feelings and also hope that it can help validate and comfort others who feel the same.”

The seasoned musician has quickly built a loyal following alongside his recovery advocacy. Since his debut track, he’s been blending indie-folk sensitivity with thoughtful storytelling, musical polish with uncovered emotional truth. As he sets the stage for the album, it looks to be both introspective and uplifting, navigating life’s complexity.
