Shannon Tehya shares poignant single ‘Bitter Boys’

Emerging from the New York state town of Cambridge, Shannon Tehya uses her music to deliver a sound of hope and inspiration, bringing her gentle yet impassioned folk-pop sound to fans with the intention of leaving a positive impact. The artist currently looks ahead to her debut album Tangled String, a project encompassing a theme of breaking down boundaries, as a woman, as a romantic and as a songwriter.

The final pre-album reveal is Shannon’s new single ‘Bitter Boys’, a heartfelt journey led by a duet of graceful piano accompaniment and Shannon’s confident, powerful vocal performance. This delicate dance between voice and instrument is accented with rising guitar counters, cutting through the atmosphere with distortion, enforcing the climactic moments of Shannon’s story. Commanding a sense of presence, near demanding audiences pay attention, Shannon once again writes herself as a spellbinding centre, her poignant words ringing out long after the final moments.

Shannon explains the new track, “Bitter Boys is a satirical letter to all the men who have ever tried to break my spirit. I started dancing in a strip club when I was 18 years old. In a weird way, that choice saved my life. However, it also exposed me to a lot of really unwell people and toxic masculine energy, which is what this song speaks to.”
