This project is an ethereal voyage deeper into one’s soul. A modern feminine journey of transformation, beginning (both sonically and thematically) in darkness and ending with a newfound light that listeners find as they navigate through. These songs serve as a companion to anyone on their path to self-love and growth. As the EP progresses, a world centered around raw heartfelt lyrics paired with alt-r&b and electronic production emerges. Lush harmonies and quotable lyrics contrast the distorted fx and production to further reveal the project’s ethos. Which is this: we cannot find light within ourselves, without first learning to dance with darkness. And we cannot fully help this world without first learning to love ourselves.
Clearly this package of songs comes from a place of internal awareness. When asked, Julia said, “This project is one I have truly poured my entire heart and soul into. Sonically, I wanted to create a world that was raw and takes you into the first full chapter of my story. It’s about the feminine journey inward, and towards finding self-love/growth that I have stumbled upon throughout my own journey these past few years. It’s about both the dark and light sides of my journey so far, and how both are so necessary for transformation. That’s what creating this project genuinely was for me. Creating this body of art helped me overcome the dark times in my life, and turn them into something meaningful.”
