London-based alternative electronic artist Sink has worked with the likes of XBOX’s Motogp24, HBO Max, Adidas and Respawn Entertainment. His sound blends electronic ambience with the creation of deep, powerful and cutting atmospheres.
Following acclaimed label releases under Olafur Arnald and Max Cooper, his latest single ‘Shallow’ exemplifies the emotion in Sink’s sound, exploring the blurred lines between technology, nature and the relentless pace of modern life. The track navigates these imbalances with glitchy synth design, choppy percussive sounds and distortion, all brought together by a heavily processed but natural feeling falsetto.
“‘Shallow’ is about the struggle to seek balance, in a world of hyperboles and extremes,” Sink shares. “It plays with the fragility of something pristine while allowing distortion and imperfection to seep through.”
It tees up a rich new album, Flaw State, which draws on influence from alternative pop, impressionism, and ambient electronica. The project looks to solidify Sink’s growing reputation for storytelling and innovation.
