‘Slide’ is the brand new single from KGOSI

KGOSI serves up the ultimate feel-good vibes with his catchy new track ‘Slide’. The single, inspired by Triller and TikTok, strives to get people dancing, carrying an abundance of energy and dynamism with playful bars and pumping beats. The South African-born, South Manchester-raised rapper is already making waves, injecting an impressive bold new style into the UK rap scene. With a charming charisma and an abundance of authentic talent, KGOSI is quickly establishing himself as a force to be reckoned with.

Discussing his latest single, KGOSI said: “Slide is the product of being up late at night full of creative energy. When I was sent the beat by the producer, within 30 seconds of listening to the beat I had the basic structure of the chorus. I wanted to create a high energy, fun track that everybody could vibe to and do some simple dance moves to. When writing the song I took some inspiration from Kendrick Lamar – ‘Humble’ for the energy in the delivery and Drake – ‘Toosie Slide’ in the way he instructs people to do the dance moves.”

KGOSI also explains: “As I say in the song ‘This is for Triller and TikTok’, it is aimed at people that like to get involved in challenges. When the track is released, I’m looking to get the #SlideChallenge going and getting as many people involved. A lot of the time when writing a track I envision how it would be to perform the song live and I know this would be a mosh pit starter!”

KGOSI began writing his own songs from a young age, and by the age of 16, he began honing his craft to attain an ideal blend of melodic yet lyrical content. Now aged 24, he is sharing his masterful blend of experimental vocal lines and gravitating energy with the world, and making a big impression. KGOSI’s stand-out sound was influenced by a multitude of artists, ranging from Hip-Hop legends 50 Cent and Kendrick Lamar, to UK Afro-Swing prodigies including J Hus, MoStack, NSG. KGOSI is showing no signs of stopping, and we are eagerly anticipating what 2021 holds for this emerging talent.
