Looking to make waves in the new year, Sloane Monroe gears up to release her new alt-pop single ‘Clueless’. Since moving to London in 2018, Monroe has developed a boundary-pushing approach to pop music, mixing a blues foundation with sticky electronica to forge something that feels contemporary and distinctive.
Pushing through the airwaves, dazzling toplines shimmer across the track whilst Sloane’s euphoric vocal makes emphatic lyrical stamps. Building tension, the single rises to a blood-pumping climax in the chorus. As ‘Clueless’ grows, the single adds further groove and finesse to its decorated foundations. Diving into the track, Monroe explains, “‘Clueless’ came from a quintessential late-night conversation with a friend. I was on the phone, laughing about how I’d met a guy on a night out who was completely oblivious to my interest. “Clueless baby,” I said, and suddenly, a little lightbulb went off. The next morning, I revisited a project I had been working on for my friend Rebecca (Le Montais), isolating a sample and building the chorus. A few writing sessions later, ‘Clueless’ was born.”
