Hailing from Bournemouth, Small Talk are fresh from a UK tour, continuing to gain attention from the industry. The band have only been together a year but already seem ready to take on the big leagues with their infectious melodies and vibrant soundscapes.
For the bands latest single ‘Always Always’, the scene is set with a soft, swirling synth that lays the foundations for gritty, distorted chords and idyllic melodies from the electric guitar. A groovy bass line and tight, punchy drums pair with a heartfelt and passionate vocal performance. These elements combine to evolve into a catchy blend of rock and pop, creating a euphoric yet thoughtful atmosphere that doesn’t sacrifice well-penned lyricism and evocative themes.
Speaking on the single, the band share, “Always Always was written about a close friend from my hometown of Bournemouth who moved away. It’s that sense of nostalgia and longing for the moments that we would spend together, completely oblivious to what was happening around us. It highlights the gradual decline of our town, the friends that we lost and the memories that slowly faded away.”
