Helena, MT’s The State Champions recently released their album, INDEPENDENT RECORD via Pizzle Records. The album’s opening track is “Canada.” A first-person narrative in the style of an acoustic ballad, the song is about a kid from the wrong side of the tracks doing illegal activities. Written with the wisdom that only hindsight can bring in a whiskey-soaked warble, vocalist Aaron Parrett sings “Canada is right up around the bend.”
