Stamford, CT-raised singer/songwriter, Chapell is preparing to release his new album, The Underground Music Show on July 19th. The first single from the album is “Suddenly.” The track perfectly encapsulates Chapell’s self-described “Indie Rock meets Americana” style with its catchy chorus and gorgeous layers of guitar and violin. Chapell explains the circumstances that led to the song “I wrote it in memory of my friend and legendary digital agency hero Tim McHale. This might be the first indie pop song written about a Zoom memorial service. I’ll admit, it’s kind of a weird topic for a pop song.” But it works and summarizes how many people felt losing friends and loved ones during the pandemic.
