Rising songwriter and rapper Tara Lord has unveiled the striking new music video for her hit sophomore single ‘Praying’. The visual sees this young artist in her element, bringing fashionable looks and sassy energy to accompany the hip-hop groove. Over dreamy guitar textures and fierce beats, Tara unleashes her punchy, heart-on-sleeve bars with melodic delivery.
Speaking about her new track, Tara reveals: “Praying is a very emotional song for me, I expressed what I was feeling in the moment and kinda just let it all out in the booth. I wrote the song while I was having a mental breakdown and put all my frustration into words. A lot of people’s mental health, including mine, has been suffering due to the pandemic and I feel like this song expresses that well.”
Presenting a bold and forward-thinking sound, newcomer Tara Lord has already received widespread recognition. Both ‘Praying’ and her debut single ‘Overthinking’ earned her national Canadian and US radio play, coveted editorial playlist support from Spotify, Amazon and Apple Music, as well as over 30K listeners on Spotify. Set for great things, Tara Lord is definitely one to keep on your radar.
