London singer-songwriter TC TENET debuted in 2023, envisaging a new direction for alt-rock, something truly alternative in a landscape where traditional alt-soundscapes have become more mainstream. Originally hailing from Brazil, the artist has become averse to a flashy lifestyle, staying in the underground as part of a range of bands before his solo career fired up.
In his latest explorations of what it means to break free from the set structure, TC TENET brings melodic guitars, rhythmic undertones and old-school production. It’s in this balance that his debut ‘Breakaway’ EP takes root.
Balancing a love for rock and roll in decades gone with constant seeking for the genre’s next step, he gives himself room to experiment, whilst appealing to audiences with palatable sounds. Whether charging through energised electric guitars or softly speaking emotive vocals into the microphone, TC challenges society on the issues that matter, equality, empowerment and saving the climate.
Explaining the overarching themes of ‘Breakaway’, TC shares, “Breakaway is an EP about believing one has the power to change things, whether in one’s own life or wider society. It’s a statement that anyone can be an agent of change if one believes in it and act”
