The Lightning Kids want us to get a little closer in upcoming release

The Lightning Kids

Following the release of their first album, All Those Nights, back in November 2022, The Lightning Kids are ready to return in a few hours. The new song is titled “All Those Nights – Santa Monica Mix“, a direct nod to their album, and is set to release on 23rd February.

The Lightning Kids, consisting of singer-songwriter Emma Ballantine, guitarist/producer Darryn McHardie (aka Cinematix 1993), and songwriter/producer Jonny Spalding, were formed during lockdown 2021. The synth-wave band takes influences from bands such as London Grammar, The Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, The 1975, and Pet Shop Boys. Their album ‘All of Those Nights’, which tells the story of two teenagers experiencing love, loss, heartbreak, and growing up, was recorded in Spring 2022 in the band’s home studio and mixed by Brian Skeel in Summer. Since its release, The Lightning Kids have gained a following, with their mashup of ‘The Lost Boys’ to the soundtrack of ‘The Boys of Summer’ trending on social media and leading to a #1 album placement on the German alternative album chart on iTunes and a top 10 placement in over 5 countries. They have over 50,000 views on YouTube and almost 100,000 streams after only one month of sales.

All Those Nights – Santa Monica Mix” is a new version of their album track, including new vocals, and is heavily inspired their love of 80’s Californian pop and love songs.

We can only wish for The Lightning Kids to have the same amount of success with this new version. Don’t forget to follow them to keep an eye on the release:
