“When making our version of Sexy Back it started out as something really simple, just using a basic beat pattern and a lot of stop and start moments that you hear in the beginning of the song. As we played it more though we realised that we could make the song into so much more. We made every verse different. The first verse used the original concept behind the cover, the second verse takes a lot of inspiration from the groovy beat of the original, and the last verse takes inspiration from songs such as Killing in the Name of by Rage Against the Machine. The chorus’s and bridge take a lot more inspiration from the original but is given a much more intense instrumental and delivery. It was a very long process, as we really wanted to portray the same energy we exude into our live performances of Sexy Back into the recorded version and that took significant trial and error until we finally made a product that we are super proud of and excited to share!”
