Is that a hint of spring we smell? Today Timothy Nelson welcomes his long awaited album Debaser Tapes, a stunning selection of indie pop & indie folk records, oozing with warming guitars, uplifting hooks and addicting harmonies.
Lead single, ‘Your House’ combines electric guitar, bass, drums, and synth elements, catapulting the listener to a warm, carefree summer’s evening – sounds dreamy right?! The inspiration for the track came from a spontaneous recording session with Dale Shearsmith, with the pair wanting to create a song that depicts the journey of self discovery we take when longing for a fantasy world.
Although sonically, album flows beautifully from front to back, as Timothy explains “In some ways, a song like Your House has no business being on a record with Greenmount Hill, but that was kind of the point” as he goes on to say“I wanted to let each song dictate its own direction.”
Debaser Tapes is just the dose of grooviness needed to get you through the colder months, reminding us that warmer days lie ahead.
