Hailing from Brisbane, Tofa is a dynamic musician with a signature and unique sound that has been lauded by tastemakers and fans alike. Tofa grew up listening to a whole host of musical genres that would later influence his music, with the likes of hip hop to pop, R&B and indie music all to be found in his sound. His biggest passion is finding connection with his audience from his music, and he’s certainly doing that.
His latest single “Anxiety” is a warm, new offering. The track features a colourful melting pot of playful drums, grooving bass lines and chorus-soaked guitar lines. On top, his vocals are immersive and dynamic, working hand in glove with well-penned and emotional lyrics. Accompanying are divine backing vocals. Featuring on the track alongside Tofa, is multi-talented artist Rooxie. Their input on the track manages to deliver a different experience lyrically and musically.
Speaking about the track, Tofa says: “I wrote this record, referring to a rough time in my life, from the glance you have at the song/lyrics, you’ll think I’m talking about a partner or past partner, but the truth is it’s all referring to anxiety, hence the name of the song. You really have to think perspectively about it but you will understand.”
With tunes like this, we cannot wait to see where Tofa will take this.
