Torrence Debuts With Intense Single ‘Violent Tendencies’

Torrence is a new singer-songwriter debuting with the impassioned folk-pop ballad, ‘Violent Tendencies’. Released via the singles club, Made Arcade, the track is emotional and raw from the very beginning, jumping between calming sounds and explosive delivery.

Based around the British artist’s experience with undiagnosed ADHD growing up, the single is an intense outcry of misunderstood youth, represented by the push and pull of Torrence’s powerful vocals with the piano backing. Arriving alongside a minimalistic new music video, ‘Violent Tendencies’ is a powerful debut from the Bournemouth singer, having played music since childhood in order to help with his ADHD.

“The story of a boy who goes to sleep after a Friday night fight, and wakes up to the bird song he knows and loves. The push and pull of growing up feeling repeatedly misunderstood and unable to control his emotions.” Explains Torrence, who has previously released music under his full name Benjamin Torrens. “It is jarring, it is unashamedly raw, and the lack of resolve leads to a powerful experience.
