Loyal fans can look forward to this assertive, unapologetic, and deeply resonant release

Athens, GA – October 22nd  – Vision Video, the post-punk band from Athens, Georgia, is set to release their highly anticipated third LP, Modern Horror, on October 22nd. Known for blending the sounds of the late 70s and 80s with modern themes, the band dives deeper into the darker corners of human existence in this new album, a poignant reflection on trauma and societal disillusionment.

Frontman Dusty Gannon, an Afghanistan veteran and former firefighter-paramedic, channels his harrowing experiences into raw, impactful lyrics that confront the realities of our flawed world. He explains:

“I wanted to write music that helped people remember that it’s okay to not be okay, but that also doesn’t shy away from taking a stern look at the darker aspects of our flawed human existence.”

Modern Horror was recorded with Grammy Award-winning producer Ben Allen (Erasure, Washed Out) at Maze Studios in Atlanta, marking a significant evolution in the band’s sound. The album maintains the grit of their previous work while introducing a more refined and expansive sonic landscape. From dissonant guitar riffs to haunting synth melodies, each track is charged with urgency and emotion, masterfully crafted to resonate with listeners.

This album is not just a collection of songs; it serves as a stark warning against rising Christian nationalism in America and highlights the systematic disenfranchisement and marginalisation that permeates society. With its unrelenting critique of modernity, Modern Horror stands as a testament to Vision Video’s commitment to art as activism.

Having already garnered critical acclaim for their previous albums, including praise from Pitchfork for their ability to evoke nostalgia while pushing boundaries, Vision Video continues to grow exponentially. Their engaging presence on social media, bolstered by Dusty’s viral “Goth Dad” character, has amassed hundreds of thousands of followers, amplifying their message and music.

Fans can expect an intense experience both on record and during live performances as Vision Video prepares for another round of touring. The band has completed eight major tours, frequently selling out venues across the U.S., UK, and Europe, and is poised to bring the themes of Modern Horror to the stage.
