It may come as a shock then that it’s only now that WUNDER BETA unveils her debut single, ‘Waiting Here’. Soft beginnings invite the forthcoming steady ascension into pure euphoria from the very first moments.
The bass is introduced, adding intensity despite a steadier pulse from the piano. An uplifting interplay of delicate, cinematic production and inventive vocal melodies take hold. Pop-tinged but diverges from convention onto darker, more poignant notes as the chords descend.
It’s a sensational first outing, showing the intention, refinement and mastery of her sonic craft you may struggle to find elsewhere at the first hurdle, but not here.
WUNDER BETA explains the upcoming EP for which this is a teaser: “I wrote this EP to take you on a journey of emotions, life stories, and dilemmas punctuated by unique beats. My lyrics were inspired by our longing to be loved, often feeling lost and lonely, and then finding purpose in the present moment. Unearthing answers on our deepest emotions, on the beat of our hearts, and the warm feeling of the sunset. I wanted to tell people about the magic of living in the now, loving to the fullest, and expanding our souls beyond the skies. Sonically, I created a kaleidoscope of electronic sounds woven into my ethereal-dreamy vocals, with nods to my Brazilian Bossa Nova influences.”
