The WUNDER BETA project builds upon immersion and expansion. Before her debut ‘Waiting Here’, Beta was already a creative force, swapping Brazil for London and co-founding award-winning studio Bossa Games, which in itself spiralled down new avenues. Now, in the next step of her musical journey, she releases ‘Lost Ourselves’.
WUNDER BETA’s emotional second single, taken once again from her upcoming debut EP, titled Love You To Beats, is a vast, expansive soundscape that releases a fiery timelessness and everlasting sentiment into the atmosphere.
Swathes of gorgeous synths cradle a strong, controlled but ultimately uplifted vocal performance, drenched in rich harmony. The break beats and Bossa Nova tinges are fast becoming staples of WUNDER BETA’s sound, but that is not a criticism; they are simply beautiful.
There’s a meditative finality to WUNDER BETA’s sound; her personal gentle reflections upon the self have guided her to speak with such poetic intention, all while utilising what is so clearly a strong musical talent. ONE TO WATCH!
Beta adds, “I wrote this song just after waking up from a vivid dream, while doing my Morning Pages. I often wake up feeling like I lived another life while I was sleeping. The visuals, the emotions, even the smells linger as if all really happened. As I was writing, I realised there was a song hidden in that feeling. It captured that moment when intimacy is slipping through your fingers, when doubt creeps in, but then something shifts. It becomes hope and transcendence. Lost Ourselves is about emotional connection on the edge, when you almost lose it and then realise just how powerful and sublime it really is. Sonically, like the whole EP, it’s a kaleidoscope of electronic sounds woven into my ethereal-dreamy vocals and Brazilian influences, all glowing in the light of the sunset.”
