Boomerang Nightclub in Hong Kong makes headlines as one of the world’s Top 100 Clubs List

Having made its grand opening only last year during Halloween, Boomerang club in Hong Kong undeniably got off to a rough start as local measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 forced it to close its doors not long after. Having re-opened this year however, the promising venue is back in full force, hosting spectacular events and parties, something that now has earned it praise from DJ Mag, and an inclusion in its prestigious Top 100 Clubs list at number 98.

Though an inclusion in such an influential list is a truly massive achievement for any newly-launched venue, Boomerang has its success rooted in some of the most influential names in Asian nightlife. The early concept for the club was brought to life as courtesy of Deejaykarlie, a local female icon within the Hong Kong music scene, who had gained immense international clubbing experience from her year-long travels around the world. Backing Deejaykarlie’s visionary concepts is John Rana, widely known as the “Asian Clubbing Dragon.” The owner of Privé Group, Rana has more than 15 years of experience in Hong Kong’s nightlife scene under his belt, and has seen numerous successes in the past, most notably Bungalow, Levels, Privé and Privé Nepal.

Located in downtown Hong Kong, Boomerang occupies the space where a long-standing Hard Rock Cafe was operating, and has completely transformed the venue, allowing its attendees to enjoy an exclusive and luxurious clubbing experience. The visionary club has its sights set high, aiming to start booking international DJs and performers once borders fully reopen, while already lending its decks to some of Asia’s most exciting new talents. With its recent partnership with Rememberasia – one of Asia’s most renowned artist management agencies – Boomerang has gained access to buzzing names such as iLtik, Yaman and Krayon, who regularly perform at the club as its resident DJs.

There’s no doubt that being featured on DJ Mag’s Top 100 Clubs list while being open for less than a year is an impressive achievement for any venue. Boomerang is showing no signs of slowing down anytime soon, and it’s safe to say that it’s well on its way towards becoming a staple within Hong Kong’s nightlife.
