Ed Sheeran’s car accident injuries feared worse than first reported

Ed Sheeran was hit by a car on Monday morning (16th October) whilst cycling through London and now, it appears that his injuries may be worse than first expected.

The 26-year-old singer took to Instagram after the incident to post a picture of his arm in a cast alerting fans of his unfortunate accident. See his post below.

Ive had a bit of a bicycle accident and I’m currently waiting on some medical advice, which may affect some of my upcoming shows. Please stay tuned for further news. Ed x

Unfortunately, for those wishing the singer a speedy recovery, he posted another snap to his Instagram detailing the more serious extent to his injuries. He also confirmed that he had been forced to cancel a number of upcoming shows in Taipei, Osaka, Seoul, Tokyo and Hong Kong. See below.

A visit to my doctors confirmed fractures in my right wrist and left elbow that will leave me unable to perform live concerts for the immediate future. Sadly, this means that the following shows will not be able to go ahead as planned: Taipei, Osaka, Seoul, Tokyo and Hong Kong. I’m waiting to see how the healing progresses before we have to decide on shows beyond that. Please stay tuned for more details. PS – Ed isn’t typing this as he has both arms casted/bandaged.

The chart-topping singer was later seen looking downcast leaving the hospital with both of his arms in slings.

This USA leg of the tour ends today, been a very fun 4 months, will be back here next year the stadium tour which I’m super excited about. Off to shoot a music video tomorrow for Perfect and then we go to Asia for 6 weeks for shows, which I’m excited about too. Thanks to everyone who’s come to the shows so far, and thank you to @jamesblunt for being a fantastic opening act. Me and him at the beginning of the tour said we would eat 1000 wings by the end and by golly we did. Here’s a picture of me giving a panda a lift home x

Ed Sheeran has just finished the US leg of his tour and although the dates in Taipei, Osaka, Seoul, Tokyo and Hong Kong have been cancelled, the shows in the Philippines, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand will depend on the speed of his healing process.
