FEYEN’s debut album ‘Hoʻoponopono’ blends spirituality and rock in an immersive, genre-defying album

Belgian artist Roger Feyen breaks new ground with his highly anticipated debut album, ‘Hoʻoponopono,’ which merges the grandeur of rock opera with the spiritual practice of communal meditation. Feyen’s self-described “Yoga Opera Rock” style offers a transformative experience, delivering a sound that is as meditative as it is theatrical.

Inspired by the Hawaiian forgiveness ritual from which the album takes its name, ‘Hoʻoponopono’ offers a musical journey through 12 tracks that blend pop, soft rock, and pop-rock, all wrapped in a deeply introspective and spiritual framework. Feyen’s compositions balance serene, soulful melodies with dramatic rock crescendos and complex guitar solos, resulting in a soundscape that takes listeners on an emotional voyage of self-discovery and empowerment.

The album’s lead single, “I Am Love,” stands as a powerful mantra at the heart of the project. A blend of ethereal tones from a music box, the timeless Schumann melody, and soaring operatic vocals, “I Am Love” echoes the spiritual depth of Feyen’s vision. Its themes of self-love and present-moment awareness are central to both the single and the wider album, encapsulating the message that joy, love, and happiness are within reach if we choose them.

In both its sound and message, ‘Hoʻoponopono’ is a bold and innovative debut. Feyen’s fusion of rock opera and spiritual meditation transcends traditional genre boundaries, offering a unique and immersive experience. Tracks like “I Am Love” are not just songs, but spiritual practices in their own right, emphasizing mindfulness, gratitude, and transformation.

With ‘Hoʻoponopono,’ Roger Feyen delivers an introspective, heartfelt exploration of love, forgiveness, and spiritual growth, solidifying his place as a pioneering voice in the music world.
