Premiering at Sundance Film Festival in January, Flying Lotus’ debut film, ‘Kuso’, features music from Aphex Twin and stars American stand-up comedian Hannibal Buress.
‘Kuso’, the expansion of Flylo’s previous short film ‘Royal’, is said by Sundance to revolve around a post-apocalyptic cityscape “broadcasting through a makeshift network of discarded televisions…tangled up in the aftermath of Los Angeles’s worst earthquake nightmare.”
Sundance has issued a statement confirming that ‘Kuso’ has been placed in the “midnight” category which showcases “horror and comedy to works that defy genre classification.”
Flying Lotus is renowned for his unsettling yet weirdly beautiful and thought provoking video visuals so it can be confidently assumed ‘Kuso’ will be equally as innovative. Watch the weird and wonderful music video for Flylo’s ‘Ready Err Not’, animated by David Firth, below.
