The Fusion Project: a stunning blend of the East and the West

The Fusion Project, true to its name, is an eclectic blend of exotic craftsmanship and talent. TFP’s aim has always been to expose the natural and enchanting beauty of Indian classical music. The Project way back when at Oxford University. The blues singer-songwriter and Indian Classical flautist crossed paths by chance – and what a lucky chance it was. Gaining an avid following, as the band began to form and take shape, The Fusion Project skyrocketed to fame, selling out venues in its birthplace, Oxford, and London.

Blending an Eastern ensemble of Hindustani and Carnatic vocals, the Tabla, and the Indian Classical flute with the sounds of Western voice, the cello, bass, guitar and clarinet; the Fusion Project offers up an immense depth of illustrious and unique sound. Building on the inspirations of thousands of years of traditional Eastern and Western music, The Fusion Project aims to bridge the gap between the different cultures while retaining the spirit of their origins.

A mere eight months after forming, The Fusion Project were given the opportunity to grace the oldest music hall in Europe, performing with Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan at the Holywell Music Room. The band has been greatly received and featured on BBC Asian Network, alongside a plethora of media outlets. The Fusion Project offers a handcrafted masterpiece of diverse talents and has the ability to create a moving and unforgettable experience.
