A new mix that showcases “kick-ass women” has been created by Gorillaz’ guitarist Noodle.
The cartoon member of the Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett-created band follows fellow animated bandmate, Gorillaz bassist Murdoc – who released a playlist last month in time for Christmas – with ‘Me, Noodle!’
She said, via her Instagram page: “In search of new sounds and new inspiration, I found these kick-ass women who in their own individual ways are true pioneers in the writing, production and creation of music. They have inspired me, and I hope they inspire you too.”
The mix contains cuts from the likes of Grimes, Kali Uchis and Empress Of, in addition to snippets of interviews with electronic music pioneers Delia Derbyshire and deaf percussionist Evelyn Glennie.
