Happy Mondays to set out on extensive 30th anniversary Greatest Hits tour

It hardly seems possible that Happy Mondays have been around for over 30 years now. But in 1987, they delivered their first widely-heard recording to the world in the form of their debut album, Squirrel and G-Man Twenty Four Hour Party People Plastic Face Carnt Smile (White Out). This was followed by a lot of touring, and maracas have been an essential ingredient of any good party ever since.

That wagon of unquantifiably good times has been rolling around the world pretty much non-stop in the ensuing years, without losing any momentum and excitement, and perhaps getting even better at playing along the way. Happy Mondays will be celebrating passing the three decade mark by playing an extensive 26-date tour throughout the British Isles in November and December.

Happy Mondays front man, Shaun Ryder said “I am really looking forward to the ‘Mondays’ shows leading up to Christmas 2017. We’re performing better than ever and I love getting together with the band, blasting out all our great tunes we’ve made together over the decades. It’s gonna be great.” Their totemic dancer and maraca player Bez added “Just as I thought it was all over, the party’s starting again. Look forward to seeing you all.

The 24 Hour Party People Greatest Hits Tour is bound to be a smashing success and a riotously good time. If you live in the UK there’s a very good chance they’re coming somewhere near you, so check the dates below and get on down to the Happy Mondays.
