On Sunday 22nd of October, Julyo with his trio (featuring film scoring composer Dario Rodighiero), will perform at the Italian Fusion Festival in Dublin, Ireland. Julyo will play instrumental renditions of classics by Stevie Ray Vaughan, Carlos Santana, Jimi Hendrix, Jeff Beck, Miles Davis, Curtis Mayfield, and songs by Daft Punk, and Tame Impala featuring special guest Irish singer/songwriter Sophie on vocals.
Julyo has recently joined the online teaching platform “Forte” as a verified Recording Academy member and will commence work on a live instrumental show for future performances in 2024. This show will serve as a tribute to the early “Julyo Trio” incarnation, which toured Germany and Italy during the late 90s. The music performed by Julyo and his trio will consist of a personal selection of artists who profoundly influenced Julyo’s guitar playing when he worked as a session player in Europe between the late 90s and early 2000s.
The Italian Fusion Festival stands as Europe’s largest celebration of Italian culture. Its sixth edition is set to take place on October 22, 2023, starting at 6 pm at The Well in Dublin.
This multicultural and multidisciplinary arts extravaganza is organized by Radio Dublino, Ireland’s sole Italian-language radio program, which took flight in 2013. The festival lineup features Balfolk Ensemble, Barrio Cubano, Lulu’s World Band, and Truma with Mark Geary.
Founded and spearheaded by Maurizio Pittau, the festival’s primary objective is to foster cultural exchange between Italy and Ireland. This vision comes to life through a lineup of bands based in Ireland, whose music is the fruit of collaborative efforts between Irish and Italian musicians. Every participating band has graced the airwaves of Radio Dublino, offering an electrifying glimpse into the latest musical trends within the Dublin scene.
