Róisín Murphy of Moloko fame has just released an accompanying video for groove infused single, ‘Jacuzzi Rollercoaster.’
This self-directed video features large groups of Murphy’s fans dancing in front of a vast black background, creating abstract shapes and images with their bodies and movements. It has a futuristic yet homegrown feel to it which is both visually arresting and oddly heartwarming.
Watch the playful visuals below – they’ll make you want to dance for sure.
Casted via social media and word of mouth buzz, the video shoot was similar and yet totally different to the two-day epic shoot of ‘All My Dreams/Plaything’ in which Murphy recreated a rave at London’s The Store X.
For ‘Jacuzzi Rollercoaster’ they took a more straightforward approach, filming in front of a green screen in a studio in King’s Cross, Murphy has said of the process: “This time a larger leap of imagination was required as we were shooting against a simple green screen, effectively removing the rave and concentrating solely on the ravers. The green screen enabled me to manipulate and collage the footage, the phrase “we’ve left the club and entered the drug” has been a kind of guiding principal. We have gone into the trip.”
