Drake has been dropping hints that he has new music not for over the horizon for a little while now; at last month’s OVO Fest he told the audience he was going to record a new album in Toronto, then in the last few weeks released photos of himself recording with Toronto’s iconic CN Tower in the background, but now comes the most concrete evidence that new music from the rapper is very near.
In a Snapchat post this past weekend, New York Giants player Landon Collins showed off his new Adidas cleats, but perhaps more interesting was the track being bumped in the locker room: unmistakably a new cut from Drake. The snippet actually features Drake rapping about one of their fellow NFL players, saying “Like Sanders on the Detroit Lions, give you the run around and I bury you where they won’t find you.” It’s likely the track showed up in the Giants’ locker room via Odell Beckham Jr., with whom Drake is known to be friends.
