Kanye West recently returned to Twitter and last night went on a tweeting-spree posting a number of pro-Donald Trump tweets.
Over the last few days, he has said that he “loves” Trump and even called him a “brother“, shared a picture of him wearing a “Make America Great Again” hat and slammed Barack Obama. He even got a shout-out from President Trump who thought his latest Twitter activity was “very cool“. See some of his tweets below.

Obama was in office for eight years and nothing in Chicago changed.

His actions caused a great deal of controversy within the music industry and hip-hop community resulting in fellow rappers and musicians, including Janelle Monáe, J. Cole, Snoop Dogg and more, to voice their opinions online.
See their responses below.
Janelle Monáe, during an interview on Hot 97, said: “I believe in free thinking, but I don’t believe in free thinking if it’s rooted in or at the expense of the oppressed. If your free thinking is used as fuel by oppressors to continue to oppress black people, minorities — I think it’s bullshit and not OK.”

Meanwhile, Jordan Peel, the director of Get Out, and Snoop Dogg both joked that this could be a sequel to Peel’s award-winning movie.

Despite much of the negativity surrounding Kanye’s views, Fellow Chicagoan, Chance The Rapper, offered his support to West. After a tweet was posted by Oldman Ebro claiming Ye was lost, CTR recalled seeing him just days before and claimed he was “in a great space“.
Talked to him two days ago. He’s in a great space and not affected by folk tryna question his mental or physical health. Same Ye from the Vmas, same Ye from the telethon. https://t.co/2zY3KpllV2
