The Silent Room Shares Ethereal Debut Single ‘You’ll Never Know’

UK composer and keyboardist The Silent Room (the solo project of Tim Oliver) debuts with his atmospheric single “You’ll Never Know”, out now via his Meddle label. This intricately crafted track offers a glimpse into his forthcoming EP, Fluorescent, set to release on the 11th of October 2024.

“You’ll Never Know” immediately pulls listeners into a world of nostalgia and yearning, driven by shimmering arpeggiated synths, resonant drums, and emotive vocals. Echoing the dreamlike qualities of M83 and TOTO, the track blends cinematic textures with personal introspection, creating a soundscape that is both expansive and intimate. It’s a finely tuned balance of delicate synths and deep, resonant instrumentation, showcasing The Silent Room’s finesse as both a composer and a producer.

Before launching his solo venture as The Silent Room, Tim Oliver built a remarkable career performing with artists such as Neneh Cherry and Boy George, as well as scoring television series for the BBC and Discovery. His upcoming EP, Fluorescent, promises collaborations with notable artists like Jess Greenfield (Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds) and Owen Parker (Robbie Williams), while the production is handled by Oliver himself and mixed by Grammy-winner Julian Kindred.
