Watch a rare clip of New Order performing ‘Ceremony’ in 1981

New Order have shared some rare performance footage of their single ‘Ceremony’.

The clip, which debuted to the public via NME, was filmed at Manchester’s CoManCHE Student Union on 6th February, 1981.

The archive footage is taken from a forthcoming reissue of their classic debut album, Movement.

While ‘Ceremony’ didn’t appear on Movement, the track was New Order’s debut single, initially written, demoed and performed as a Joy Division song before the death of frontman Ian Curtis.
