“The studio session was honestly so much fun,” she says. “We just let ourselves explore. I wanted it to feel light, flirty, and full of emotion—and I think we found that balance.”
A standout moment in the track is a candid voice memo tucked into the outro: a snippet of conversation between Suki and her friends, recorded the night before the session. “We’d had a few glasses of wine and were just laughing about how great dating women is,” Suki laughs. “It was spontaneous and honest and just too good not to include. It felt like the perfect way to end the song—with that realness.”
Despite rolling into the studio after little sleep and a night of wine-fuelled chats, Suki calls the session one of her favourites. “It was one of those chaotic but magical days,” she says. “Honestly, I think ‘Summer Crush’ might be my favourite song I’ve made so far.”
