Premiere: Pseudopomp Unveil Darkly Mesmerizing Sophomore Single, ‘Only Just’

Alt-rock duo Pseudopomp, featuring Greek musician Iosif and British-Bulgarian artist Katerina, are back with their much-anticipated new single, ‘Only Just’. Following their buzzworthy debut, ‘23’, the London-based pair continue to push the boundaries of spooky alt-rock, intertwining eerie melodies with unconventional songwriting that leaves a lasting impression.

Born out of late-night jam sessions after their previous band’s rehearsals, Pseudopomp’s sound is anything but predictable. Those post-practice moments of improvisation sparked organic creative chemistry, which soon morphed into something more intentional—spooky riffs, irregular rhythms, and sharp, narrative-driven lyrics, all of which define their latest release.

‘Only Just’ explores the emotional rollercoaster of falling hopelessly in love—an anti-love song for anyone who’s ever found romance inconvenient. With its haunting riffs and uneasy undercurrent, the track captures the frustration and vulnerability of being drawn into something that feels destined to fall apart. The song builds towards a climactic epiphany at the 2:28 mark, as faint piano notes subtly signal the heartbreak that can no longer be ignored.

Self-recorded and once again produced by Ben ‘Faz’ Farestvedt, the track showcases Pseudopomp’s flair for melding raw emotion with dark, atmospheric alt-rock. Though the band spent the summer making waves in London’s indie scene with stripped-down acoustic sets, they’re now rehearsing with a full band to bring the intensity of their recordings to the stage.

With ‘Only Just’, Pseudopomp delivers another captivating piece of their puzzle, solidifying their place as one of the indie scene’s most exciting rising acts. The duo’s ability to channel raw emotion into their music—while keeping listeners on edge with their spooky sonic aesthetic—marks them as an act to watch closely as they continue their ascent.
