TÂCHES continues to redefine the boundaries of sound with his latest single, “Searching For God.” Known for his passion for blending genres and crafting immersive sonic experiences, TÂCHES has teamed up with legendary artist David Satori, famed for his work with Beats Antique and Dirtwire, to create a track that is as evocative as it is groundbreaking.
“Searching For God” marks the first release from a series of collaborations that were serendipitously sparked in the mystical village of San Marcos La Laguna, Guatemala. The story begins on the Winter Solstice of 2022, during an intimate festival at “Eagles Nest,” a hotel perched high atop a mountain with panoramic views of a volcano that erupts every 20 minutes. It was here, in the sacred landscapes of Guatemala, that TÂCHES and David Satori first crossed paths—not just as festival headliners, but as literal neighbours. Their rooms were separated only by a balcony divider, allowing for easy conversation that quickly blossomed into a shared creative vision.
Following the festival, both artists found themselves in Laurel Canyon, Los Angeles, a fortuitous proximity that hinted at collaboration. However, it wasn’t until the final week before Satori’s move to Boulder, Colorado, that the two finally came together to create. What began as a casual jam session swiftly turned into a creative outpouring, with the duo crafting ten tracks in a single session—essentially an entire album birthed in just a few hours.
These tracks, however, remained untouched until TÂCHES rediscovered them earlier this year in the rainforests of Costa Rica. The ambient sounds of the jungle breathed new life into the recordings, infusing them with an organic energy that echoes through “Searching For God.” The track seamlessly blends the natural soundscape of the rainforest with the duo’s innovative production, creating a piece that is both grounded in nature and elevated by cutting-edge sound design.
“‘Searching For God’ is just the beginning,” says TÂCHES. “There are nine more tracks that carry the essence of the places where they were conceived and the moments that shaped them. I can’t wait to share them with the world.”
